Our Team
Andrew McCarty
Meet Andrew McCarty, Founder & President of Pluto Commodities. Born and raised in Mt. Pulaski, IL, Andrew developed a deep appreciation for farming from an early age. Growing up, he managed a show pig operation, gaining recognition at local, state, and national shows, laying the foundation for his future in agriculture.
Andrew pursued higher education at the University of Illinois, earning a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Consumer Economics with a minor in Animal Sciences. He became an esteemed member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, fostering lifelong friendships and a network of like-minded individuals passionate about agriculture.
With a solid educational background and valuable industry experience, Andrew excelled as a senior ag market consultant and trader at a grain marketing and advisory firm in Boca Raton, FL. He leveraged his expertise to navigate the complexities of the market, earning a reputation as a trusted expert.
Motivated to make a lasting impact, Andrew founded Pluto Commodities, employing innovative strategies and cutting-edge technologies to empower farmers, traders, and stakeholders in optimizing their operations and achieving unprecedented success.
While Andrew resides in Delray Beach, FL, with his wife and beloved dog, he remains connected to his roots. During the summer and fall, he returns to Central Illinois to assist on the family farm and show pig operation, preserving the strong ties and traditions that have shaped his journey
Domenic Varricchio
Domenic got his start in commodities in 2011. Silver prices were topping out at $50/oz that year and cattle were $110/cwt. He had just graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in economics.
He went to take a job in Kansas as a broker. It was out on the High Plains that he learned about agriculture and really cut his teeth in the futures and options industry. After 6 years in Kansas, he persued an opportunity in Florida. He spent 5 sunny years in Florida before moving to Kansas City, Missouri where he heads up a branch office for Pluto Commodities.
As a co-founder of Pluto Commodities, Domenic brings his extensive knowledge of livestock markets to the table. In addition, Domenic is busy constantly researching trading strategies for Pluto. He is always learning more about markets and the industry.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Domenic is a devout Catholic, avid Ohio State fan, and yes, a born and bred Cleveland Browns fan.
As a graduate of Dale Carnegie training, it is Domenic’s firm belief that you get all you want out of life by helping others get all they want.
